Why We Stand With Trusted Institutions Like the FDA

There’s no question: the safety of our foods, beverages and medicines are of the utmost importance.

But in an era where there is so much information available, it can be challenging to know who to trust. The Coalition for Safe Food and Beverage Choices believes that Americans deserve to know who to trust when making safe choices about their family’s diets. This is why we stand behind the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the agency responsible for protecting the public’s health by ensuring the safety of our nation’s food supply.

What Does the FDA Do?

The FDA’s mission is as follows:

“The Food and Drug Administration is responsible for protecting the public health by ensuring the safety, efficacy and security of human and veterinary drugs, biological products and medical devices; and by ensuring the safety of our nation’s food supply, cosmetics and products that emit radiation.”

Why Is the FDA Trustworthy?

The safety of food, beverages and medicine is the highest priority for the FDA, and it has a robust, trusted scientific review process that is the gold standard in regulating the safety of food and beverages.

We’re working to support the FDA’s review process, because we believe consumers should know who to trust in order to have access to safe food and beverage choices.
